New Year's Eve 2026 falls on Thursday 31 December, and Bengaluru (Bangalore) hosts one of the country's biggest street celebrations; police expected more than 10 lakh revellers in 2025. The traditional gathering point is the MG Road, Brigade Road and Church Street stretch, where crowds count down on the street, while ticketed parties run at pubs and breweries in Indiranagar, Koramangala and Whitefield, hotel ballrooms, resorts on the city's edges and malls such as Phoenix Mall of Asia and Orion. Most venues sell packages that bundle entry with food and drinks, and many set couple-entry rules and a 21+ age limit. Plan around the police arrangements. On 31 December 2025, MG Road, Brigade Road, Church Street, Residency Road, Museum Road and Rest House Road were closed to vehicles from 8 pm to 2 am, parking there was banned from 4 pm, pedestrians on Brigade Road could walk only one way, and most flyovers were shut from 11 pm to 6 am. Namma Metro ran late, with last trains around 2 am, but closed MG Road station to entry and exit from 10 pm and asked passengers to use Trinity or Cubbon Park instead.
