Bangalore Literature Festival 2026: 11–13 December
1 events matching right now across Bengaluru — mostly literature (1). 1 is free.
The Bangalore Literature Festival's 15th edition is scheduled for Friday 11 to Sunday 13 December 2026, according to the festival's official website, which also confirms that entry is free with registration. The venue had not been named on the site at the time of writing. The 2025 edition moved to Freedom Park on Seshadri Road, the 20-acre park on the site of the old Central Jail, on 6 and 7 December, after many years at a hotel venue; it hosted nearly 300 international, Indian and Bengaluru-based authors across four programme venues and three children's stages. The festival runs parallel sessions through the day: author conversations, panel debates, poetry, book launches and performances. Its children's strand, Children | Literature | Fun (C|L|F), offered more than 75 storytelling sessions, workshops and performances in 2025 for ages four and up. If Freedom Park is used again, the Central College and Majestic metro stations are the closest. This page lists the festival along with book launches, readings, poetry nights and other literary events in Bengaluru (Bangalore) through December.
Good to know
- Register on the festival website in advance; entry is free, but registration speeds up the gate.
- Check the venue on the official site before you travel, as it had not been announced when this page was written.
- Pick your sessions from the schedule the night before; popular authors fill their tents early.
- Carry a hat, water and a light jacket. Sessions are mostly outdoors, and December evenings cool down quickly.
- Bring children on the weekend for the C|L|F sessions, which are grouped by age.
