Lalbagh Flower Show: Republic Day & Independence Day Shows
2 events matching right now across Bengaluru โ mostly heritage (1), business (1).
Lalbagh Botanical Garden holds two flower shows a year, each running for about a fortnight and ending around Republic Day (26 January) and Independence Day (15 August). The next one is the Republic Day show in January 2027; its dates and theme had not been announced at the time of writing, but the January 2026 show, the 219th, ran from 14 to 26 January. The most recent, the 220th, ran from 6 to 17 August 2026 with a floral tribute to the Western Ganga dynasty, including a 50-foot replica of the Begur Panchalingeshwara temple. The shows are organised by Karnataka's Department of Horticulture with the Mysore Horticultural Society, and the centrepiece is always a themed installation inside the Glass House, the 1889 iron-and-glass pavilion modelled on London's Crystal Palace. In 2026 tickets cost โน80 for adults on weekdays and โน100 on weekends and public holidays, with โน30 for children aged six to twelve. The August show was open from 7 am to 7 pm and the January one from 9 am to 6 pm. Lakhs of people visit, so the best plan in Bengaluru (Bangalore) is a weekday morning and the Green Line to Lalbagh station, which is beside the West Gate.
