Weekend tips
- Plan by neighbourhood. Traffic is the real cost of a Bengaluru weekend. Pair Kasturba Road with Cubbon Park, Basavanagudi with Lalbagh, and Indiranagar with Domlur.
- Mondays catch out long-weekend plans. MAP, NGMA, the Indian Music Experience, the planetarium, MTR and Ranga Shankara all close on Monday.
- Book ahead for plays, Windmills, the Vidhana Soudha tour, heritage walks and popular comedy shows.
- Use the metro where it reaches. The Purple Line covers MG Road, Indiranagar and Whitefield; the Green Line covers Malleshwaram, Lalbagh, Basavanagudi and Jayanagar; and the Yellow Line runs to Electronic City.
- Carry a rain layer between May and October, when evening showers are common.
